The High Speed Fall of a TikTok Star: The Mahek Bukhari Story
In the world of social media, everything is about the aesthetic. For Mahek Bukhari, known to her followers as @MayB215, that meant high-fashion hauls, makeup tutorials, and a glossy life in front of the camera. But behind the ring lights and filters, a much darker reality was unfolding one that would end in a high-speed double murder on a dark stretch of the A46.
This isn’t just a story about a social media creator; it’s a terrifying look at how a quest to protect a perfect reputation led to a cold-blooded ambush.

The tragedy didn’t start with Mahek, but with her mother, Ansreen. For three years, Ansreen had been involved in a secret affair with 21-year-old Saqib Hussain. When Ansreen tried to end things, Saqib didn’t take it well. He reportedly began a campaign of blackmail, threatening to send sexually explicit photos and videos to Ansreen’s husband unless he was paid £3,000.
Terrified of the scandal, Ansreen turned to her daughter. Instead of going to the police, Mahek decided to handle it. In a chilling message found later by police, Mahek told her mother: “I’ll get him jumped by guys… he won’t know what day it is.”
On a cold night in February 2022, a meeting was set. The Bukhari women told Saqib to meet them at a Tesco car park in Leicester, claiming they would hand over the money.
On a cold night in February 2022, a meeting was set. The Bukhari women told Saqib to meet them at a Tesco car park in Leicester, claiming they would hand over the money.

But it was a trap. Mahek and Ansreen didn’t come alone. They arrived with a group of six men in two high-powered cars an Audi TT and a Seat Leon. When Saqib and his friend, Mohammed Hashim Ijazuddin, pulled into the car park and saw the masked men waiting, they realized they were in danger and sped away.
What followed was a pursuit that looked more like a scene from an action movie than real life. The Audi and the Seat chased Saqib’s Skoda Fabia at speeds reaching 100mph.

The most haunting part of this story is the 999 call Saqib made while being hunted. In a recording that would later fall silent with a scream, Saqib told operators:
“They’re trying to ram me off the road. They’re trying to kill me I’m going to die.”
Moments later, the Skoda was clipped, sent flying off the road, and slammed into a tree. The car split in two and burst into flames. Both young men died instantly.
The Trial
During the trial, the contrast was jarring. Mahek Bukhari appeared in court as a young woman who had spent her life obsessed with her image, yet she was being described as the commander-in-chief of a murder plot. Prosecutors argued that her obsession with her social media status and her family’s honor was so great that she was willing to kill to protect it.
In 2023, both Mahek and her mother were found guilty of murder. Mahek was originally sentenced to life with a minimum of 31 years, though that has recently been adjusted on appeal to around 27 years.
The case of Mahek Bukhari serves as a grim reminder that the lives we see through a screen are often far from the truth. A young woman with the world at her fingertips is now spending her best years behind bars, all because of a frantic, violent attempt to keep a secret from coming to light.
It’s a story of blackmail, betrayal, and a high-speed chase that proved you can’t outrun the truth no matter how fast you drive.
